Creative Writing Course Description
The three-year creative writing program for middle school students is designed to ignite imagination and build a strong foundation in every aspect of storytelling, poetry, and prose. Beginning with the basics of narrative structure, character development, and creative brainstorming in the first year, students gradually advance to mastering dialogue, point of view, and thematic exploration in year two. By the third year, they refine their skills through rigorous editing, experimenting with various genres, and crafting polished, original pieces ready for publication. Throughout the program, hands-on workshops, peer critiques, and exposure to diverse literary voices ensure students grow confident, versatile writers prepared to excel in advanced creative writing courses.
